Well, we are in … all is set up at the new building, Desborough Road , Eastleigh College campus, we have completely sorted the resources and serviced the sewing machines and we are all ready to go ….
The daytime patchwork city and guilds on Tuesday afternoons is now full but there is still space in the Monday evening class. The advantage of the evening is that students can park! In the daytime students can unload at Desborough and then move their car to Cranbury or park in the road, there are some 4 hour spaces.
The embroidery city and guilds class is running on Monday afternoons and we could squeeze in another student if you are quick.
Sadly the sketchbooks is not going to run on Tuesday evenings as there will not be enough students . hopefully next year will see it back again.
The Contemporary Textiles workshop is running on Fridays, this is the post city and guilds ‘masterclass’ which involves six distinct challenges a year, just 6 sessions to attend and here there is space because we just add extra groups if we overflow …we have two groups running at the moment but it does not start until the beginning of October… This will now be taught at the Sorting Office in Eastleigh. This is an old sorting office which has been converted into artist’s studios, but there is a large room available for groups to hire. again there are only a couple of parking spaces so it will be a case of unloading and then moving to Cranbury or to a local car park. This seems to be the norm for city based colleges now.
The Marvellous Mondays group, our leisure class, will also still meet at Shawford Village hall under the care of Linda Onions
Meanwhile our latest graduates are soon to have their ceremony in Winchester cathedral and I am still negotiating our re-validation for the Foundation degree
We don’t start any of our classes until the week of 22nd september so there is still time to sign up! If you are thinking about it, take the plunge, and if not, then join one of our Saturday workshops, hope to see you somewhere
